After giving the file a quick once over it doesnt seem that bad. It is pretty much just sending back stuff like radio logs and other hardware\bin logs in the even of a crash. Which as far as what level of a crash goes is uncertain as this is only a script. Decompiling the bug2go apk would give more information. The script just doesn't seem that bad. Nowhere near as bad as carrierIQ is\was

In all honesty its a pretty smart way for Moto to make bug testers out of us. They should release the "leaks" with the disclaimer that it will be sending bug reports back to them. But its not something that should be on our phones without our prior knowledge about it.

I agree, how many of us would opt in for some official "unofficial" testing. I mean, most if us are probably gonna flash anyway so, if they can get something useful out of it too, its win/win.

Existed in.214 black widow ROM. Renamed .bak

Simple fact is, this is the price we all pay for technology and ever improving devices. It's only going to get worse over time. Not to get all conspiratorial, but this is corporate operating 101, spy on your customers to ensure future products will be desirable to them. They need us to buy their newest "super" device, so they spy on what features we use most and create the device to meet the desires of the majority.

It is for crashes only and its sending back hardware logs only. And only during a crash at that. It would be beneficial to all devices on leaks as the info would go back to moto for looking at. I actually would love to have something similar in my roms rather than asking for logcats and trying to explain how to get device logcats from people. Imo until the apk is looked at this is just fear mongering. If it went to the level of carrier iq then we should all be concerned but it doesnt.

Hmmm. When I tried to delete it (Bionic .238), it said "bugtogo .sh cannot be deleted because the file system is read only"

Because you need to mount the system as R/W

Using ES File Explorer or Root Explorer with superuser permissions. Can't change permissions due to file being read only. Obviously can not delete it also due to same permissions. Any Ideas other than renaming? I'm not even sure I want to delete this .... reading what some other people are having issues after doing so

EDIT: never mind.. brain fart lol
