I'm trying to disable the background behind the notification bar from dimming when you pull it down in JellyBean/CM10 does anyone have any idea where I should be looking and what to edit. I have dug through Framework-res & SystemUI and have yet to find anything related to it.

Have you tried looking through the XML's? Sounds like something that an xml would be in charge of.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want to stop it from dimming? With the status bar down you're not really looking at what's behind it anyway

Have you tried changing the lines in SystemUI/res/values/drawable ? There are a few in there that look like they could control it. I would start there. There is also a status bar bg image in drawable hdpi that may have something to do with it.

Only things i found that may be related to it are in the layout folder located in res (systemui). Not sure if you have already tried that out. I know that the status bar/notifications are controlled by the systemui apk so that's somewhere to start :P in layout, look at the xml's with system_bar in their name. Also look in the drawable folder.
