Always been curious to ask the question - and I finally remembered to ask it!

Whenever I set my phone up, I always choose standalone GPS and google location services. I never check VZW location services (I don't know why, I guess it comes down to trust, which should say something) - I trust google, I don't trust VZW

Anyway, I was curious what you guys do when you set your phones up and if you know of any differences / uses for the services.

Thanks!

TBH, disabling Verizon is kinda pointless. They are required to attempt to track your location in order to properly direct 911 calls. The setting on your phone is whether you would like to view that data and use it to speed up GPS locks, not whether it is being recorded. You used to be able (older phones) to force the setting to only enable the aGPS chip when making an emergency call, but I'd be more skeptical about the chip disabling properly than I would be of VZW. I haven't actually checked if there was an option to disable aGPS outside of emergencies with my Razr.

I have it disabled on mine, but that's because my GPS was always off a little and that was a suggestion I read to get the accuracy back.
