Currently on Razr Maxx with VZW of course, but really had the same question back in my droid 2 days.
Is there any way to change how many times it rings before going to voicemail?
Customer support was no help.
It consistently rings at least 12 times before voicemail, my people don't want to stay on the line that long. Also, at least 3 of those rings are never heard on my end.
Ideas?

That's strange because Verizon changed it for me, from 5 to 8 rings. That was a year ago.

Hmm. Maybe I'll try in store.
What's everyone else's average # of rings before voicemail?

I just spoke with my contact who is a Verizon system engineer (not one of the tech support folks). The answer is this: It depends on where you live that changing the ring count is available or not. That may sound crazy but not really. It depends on what type of switching equipment Verizon has for your region. In reality, VZW cannot change the count of the rings, but in many areas, they can change the delay time before voice mail picks up. That, in turn, allows more or fewer rings before voice mail picks up.
