[techno-update]

Chinese students at 5 colleges said they “were being forced to work for 12 hours a day” for Foxconn after they were unable to find enough workers. Another college‘s students said they were paying $244 a month for working six days a week, this of course was before they “couldn’t find sufficient workers”. Another site said the schools were ordered by the authorities to send the students to the Foxconn factory without the parents being informed or any signed agreements. Can’t say this is totally surprising, after all the people they work for copy Android then sues them! What do you think about this? Surprising or not?

Apple doesnt care, as long as they get their product out they could give two sh*ts less who makes their phones as long as they're done right and on time.

Dare I say this, but....Nike sweatshop = Apple sweatshop, no surprises here.

While its no surprise at all that this happened, it could still potentially be a black eye for apple and maybe hurt sales. Doubt it though as the die hard apple lovers seem to be blind to the crap apple pulls.

Foxconn had to install bars on the dormitory's where they force workers to stay at so they wouldn't jump and commit suicide so is this really surprising to anyone?

I used to support every company, back when everyone was innovating. When gm and ford went to DC to get a bail out, I was sad. I thought a lot more jobs were going to be cut from my state. But apple, I think the mobile industry could definitely go without anymore. Thanks for getting the smartphone name out, but you're just holding everyone else back now. The iPhone 5 is just a dumb idea, yet my grandpa will fork over almost $900 for the 64gb off contract. I just don't get it. I actually do hope apple stops making phones. They lost the battle and now they're just having fun with what they can release, have it suck, but be a great seller because its apple.

Can we get a handle on the fanboyism, folks? I love Android and hate Apple, but Foxconn is the one who's guilty, and you know who else contracts with Foxconn? Motorola. Samsung. Nokia. Sony. Intel.

They are NOT a small business. They're one of the largest manufacturers in the world. They're certainly a bad company, but that's Chinese/Taiwanese manufacturing for you, and it's getting better.

If people are willing to buy a product, oh well. The market determines things. I wont buy from Wal-stupid-mart, now i can add more companies to the list. I just wish there were more articles spilling the beans on this stuff. Then the market buyers could make informed decissions. Where were our razrs built, btw?

I already didn't like foxcon because I sliced my hand open on a motherboard of theirs that didn't work from the box...

@leviwg...Ford didnt take the money they did it theirselves cut back on management. GM took the money now their going bankrupt again might be going to China...But Apple im not a supporter of them but i feel sorry for the gentleman that made them what they are today. The company will go down hill without him cause of Greed!!!!!!
