An unknown Motorola smartphone has been put through its paces on the GFXBench graphics benchmark tool, and it may be the successor to the Moto X.  Designated as the XT912A, the device is shown to be packing a Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of memory, 32GB of internal storage, a 5.2" 1080p display, and a 12MP rear camera along with a 2MP front facing camera.  XT912 was the model designation for the original Droid Razr, so it's also possible that this device is the next in the line of that particular model series.  There's not much more information about this device out in the wild at the moment, so hopefully Motorola will spill the beans on this one sooner rather than later.

The XT912A designation was also the X prior to it's release while it was in testing.  It is more likely just a blind placeholder.  The more likely candidate is the X's followup.  Time will tell.

I hope its not. I don't want a bigger phone. Unless they fit that screen into the current x's shape and size.

I don't see that happening, but the device won't get much bigger just going to 5.2....

IIRC the X also released in the summer. If we're seeing benchmark results now I think that would also line up for a possible summer release for whatever this device turns out to be. But like you said, time will tell because its all speculation at this point.

If it some how ends up being slightly smaller than the LG G2 that would work for me.

A 5.2" screen is 115.1 x 64.8mm, and the Moto X is 129.3 x 65.3mm.

So to be near the current form factor you would need edge to edge screen (1mm size bezels) and about 7-8mm above and below the screen. Possible, but improbable! Plus I don't know how easy it would be to use a phone that have virtually no bezel anywhere around the screen.

I doubt the technology is even there to do it.
