Hello dear readers!

I recently rooted my dads Droid Razr since he wanted me to rom it to 4.0.4 badly. (I dont know how he found out about the update)
Anyways i was like ok sure il do it but i failed (Wasent as easy as it was for my s1) i was like i cant do it and he was like ok il wait for the normal update.
So he decided to wait and he searched for it everyday , yesterday he found it and downloaded it and so he did until it failed and rebooted.
Ok nothing happend and i unrooted the phone but CWM remained and he couldent download the update again.
So basically i want to remove cwm so my dad can download his update . Please answer this quick since he really wants it on his Droid Razr.

Regards Hawler

BTW im really new at rooting and such so please explain detailed step by step.

I'm assuming you have the US Droid RAZR, and currently running GB? If so the update is out on OTA. The update is probably failing because something in the system changed, and isn't passing the "update test". So easiest thing to do would be back up your apps, and download and run the 1.6 utility (here:

). This will let you fastboot GB version .181, then you can accept the ICS OTA and restore the apps and be good to go. Hope this helps!

I actually don't have the US version i have the EU and my dad doesnt care about the apps he has on his pc he just wants to be able to download the regular motorola update.
I don't know for $#!7t about what OTA is or anything like that.

The pictures will guide you through.
I recommend an Factory Reset, before you upgrade to ICS! If you got trouble after that, reset again and all will be fine.

It's better to reset before and after (5 min that will keep you out of trouble)

And the Treiber = Driver should be the newest one from Moto.

And charge the Phone full, before you start! RSD won't let you do anything, if your battery is to low!!!! (it can happen during the flash and you will have and dead Phone in that case)

Turn off the Phone
Hold Power + Vol.up + Vol.down @ the same time.
You will see an black screen with white letters
Scroll down to Recovery with Vol.down
Accept with Vol.up
After an while you will see an dead Android
Hit short Vol.up + Vol.down
When you're in the Recovery select factory Reset with the Vol. Keys and accept with Power.

Right after reboot hold both Vol. keys to get back to the first Screen and select AP Fastboot

Connect the RazR with the PC and start RSD. Make sure it's connected and select the xml of the Fastboot.

Wait till RSD told you that it's passed before you disconnect the RazR.
