Soak test invitations for the Motorola Droid Razr HD have begun to be sent to owners who have been selected to participate in this round of testing.  Motorola's website proclaims that this device, along with the Razr Maxx HD and Razr M, will all be upgraded to Android KitKat, though no date is specified as to when the upgrades will begin rolling out.  But with soak test invitations being sent, it's a safe bet that there will be some KitKat love for Razr HD owners in the not too distant future.

Update - Reports are coming in that owners of the Razr Maxx, Ultra, and M are receiving soak test invites as well.

Thanks to LivinginKaos and SamuriHL for the tips!

I am actually a bit surprised. I've been anticipating that they would delay the drop until close to EOL, but if this is KK, Moto is going to be looking even better imo. Sent from my S-Offed One M8

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it already eol? It came out in September 2012 right? That's what, 20 months ago?

Yea, support window is 18 months.  And we are past that on the 2012 models.  I'm actually surprised that they're doing multiple models at one time.  Moto's really hitting a stride with updates.

But I remember reading (can't seem to find it now) that Moto extended the EOL to 24 months.on the hd and the m right around the time they officially announced that they were talking then to KK. Our maybe a fairy told me. Can't remember back that far :)

I very much doubt we'll see 4.4.3 on them.  Maybe I'm wrong but it's unlikely.

I seriously doubt that as well. The HD and M both got stalled at the front end receiving the jb upgrade so late in the game when they were marketing them as such. Never the less, I believe Moto has stepped up their game significantly and if their marketing team every gets their thumbs out of you know where, they might, just might, deal Samsung a pretty good blow.

We'll see how things progress under Lenovo.  However, they've vowed to continue in the direction they've been heading in.  So we'll see.
