Best Answer livinginkaos , 08 May 2014 - 03:05 PM

The Moto cable is very important for fastboot mode.

Hello everyone!  My Razr Maxx HD quit working yesterday!  It started opening and immediately closing apps.  If I would restart the phone it would work fine for a few minutes but would start doing it again.  I uninstalled every app i have downloaded.  Undid all of the updates to apps I couldnt remove and then did a factory reset.  It was working fine for about an hour and then started closing the apps again.  I restarted the phone and now it just gets stuck at the droid eye.  I can get into recovery and access my sd card and all that still but not sure what to do now.  I tried the factory reset again and clearing the cache but still no help.  I tried finding answers but they all start with me needing my phone rooted and unlocked (which it is neither) but Im not sure how to do that if it wont turn on. The phone was up to date with the latest software.   Is there anything I can do to possibly fix this issue!  Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

First off, have you tried booting with the sd card removed?

If that doesn't help, use RSD Lite or House of Moto with the most recent FXZ and give it a fresh start.

I did try with the SD card removed and sim card.  RSDlite wont recognize the phone.  The computer knows something is plugged in but says the USB device is not recognized.  Is there a trick for RSD Lite?  I used it once when my old droid X had the same issue and managed to get it working somehow.

If the phone is in Fastboot mode, you are using the original moto cable and are in a usb 2.0 port and you are getting the device not recognized, you need to fix/get the newest drivers.

You need to be in fastboot mode. Device off. Hold the vol - and press pwr. Don't release the volume button while pressing power.

You have Moto cable? USB 2.0 not 3.0? Windows 7 or 8?
