I have a question!
What makes the VZW Galaxy Nexus NOT a NEXUS?
I've had JB for a while. My Google Now does everything. Plus I have Google Wallet installed with Free credits

Verizon's refusing to allow Google to directly update it. Updates have to go through Verizon for approval.

Do we NOT have a work around in place already?
I understand this is mostly for the new GNEX owners or the ones that maybe can't update because of work but, we do have options IF we choose to root don't we?

There ARE work arounds in place, I'm sure you know. But a Nexus isn't defined as having a workaround to get your updates. Its defined as "a "pure Android" experience,

in which the devices come free of carrier or manufacturer modifications and with an unlockable bootloader

to allow for further development and end-user modification' (From Wikipedia)

Verizon is getting in the way (carrier modification) therefore Google cannot fully support it as a Nexus because of Verizon.

That's damn stupid to me. Verizon starting to think they have power like Apple now? They should never receive a google phone ever again. That sh!t is unacceptable. Android is OPEN SOURCE. Google phones are made to be developed on!! If Verizon is going to lock down boot loaders and have to "approve" updates on an "Google phone" why even mess with Android? Google should just say eff them and roll with the other carriers.

I agree partly, as for me I'm stuck on Verizon for an indefinite future. I would like to have a Nexus though, and through Verizon is the only way that will happen for me.

Although the Nexus was a nice-looking phone, the signal issues and small battery caused me to sell it two weeks after I bought it. Mostly due to the battery, though. I was in an auto repair shop having my car worked on and I went from 95% battery down to 33% just browsing the internet for an hour and a half - 90 minutes, on 3G. And it was mostly because of the screen, according to the battery stats.

So, if I want a bigger screen and an actually dependable phone with a good battery, I'll have to wait for the Razr HD / HD Maxx. Two more months.... :(

My vzw gnex is actually pretty decent signal wise. It is close enough to a nexus device for me too. I mean, it's not hard to make Google wallet work right even though I haven't bothered. And my bootloader is indeed unlocked. I know this because I've tried two radios, 4 kernels and 8 roms in the last week. So yeah, vzw is lame but with this device they are really only in the way a tiny tiny bit.

Yes, added my razr plus cash. I was desperate. Dude offer your device plus like 140 and you should get offers.

I got a cool guy that made a deal with me.
