I was looking around the market today and came across SPB Shell 3D. I saw the price and immediately wanted to turn away but decided to check out the video first. After seeing it, I thought "hey, I can try this out and if I don't like it I will just uninstall and get my money back". 4 hours later, I am HOOKED!!!! I never thought I would pay 15 bucks for a app of any kind. SPB really knocked it out of the park with this launcher though. I would love to see themes and icon customization with it but for what it is right now, it's one of a kind and I don't regret buying it. The folders are super cool, panels are awesome, and its smooth. I will be posting screen shots soon with what I have set up so far. Has anyone else tried this out? If so let me know what you thought.

I bought this about a year ago. I use it when I want a change of pace.

I was going through the reviews from a month ago or more and there were a lot that looked bad. But after a update the dev released, the reviews looked like they got a lot better. Did you have any issues when you first got it that I should look out for?

I'd be interested in a different launcher. I'll go check it out.

EDIT: Looks good but I'm gonna keep my $15 and stick with Motoblur launcher or ADW EX

Some of the built in Widgets are awesome. The network toggle takes ya right to the LTE/CDMA settings

Man if they could take this and combine it with adw we would have the perfect launcher. It wish it had themes and you were able to change icons.

I would have loved to have gotten out cheaper. If they ever have a discount on it I have to get it for my wife on her Droid 3. She loves it but won't pay 15 bucks for it.

I switch launchers a lot so this is just one more to add to my collection LOL. I think I may have used every possible one made so far. Believe it or not, I actually really like the stock blur launcher on this phone so I use it a lot more than I thought I would have.

I am getting a little low on space for attachments so I threw the screenshots into dropbox under public. Here are the links though to the pics.

Watched the video, looks great. Although it seems it would rip up battery life. How has yours faired with it?

It don't seem to be as bad as you might think. I am still getting up to 16 hours of battery before hitting 30% using the same smart actions and doing all the same things as I did with ADW or the stock launcher.

Not as draining as I would have guessed, but it did a seem to have a noticeable impact. 50% at the end of a day vs 60-70% with stock.

I bought Shell when it came out for Android, after using it on Pocket PC/WinMO for a long time. I liked it on my Droid X but that phone would lag a little with it sometimes. On my Razr it runs very smoothly and I love it. The downside it that it is so much fun to play with that I run my batttery down faster just fooling around with it. :) Right now I'm using GoLauncher EX. I go back and forth between that and SPB Shell every month or two. Each time I switch it's like having a new phone again!

As far as the $15 price that is actually about half the price that I paid back in the WinMo days. I think we have all become very spoiled with so many free or $.99 apps out there. I figured it up one time and on my last WinMo phone I had over $600 worth of apps I was actually using, plus others I had paid for but no longer used. That is one of the things I love about Android; right out of the box it does what it took me hundreds of dollars to get my old phones to do.

Can you still use things like beautiful widgets? I dont mind the 15$ i just hate that there isnt a trial version or limited free version to check it out. I always pay for an app or donate if its an option and i like and use the app. 15 min for refund is very limited for an app like this. However its looking like im going to take the plunge. Anyone know bout other widgets like bw?
