Here we have the specs to what looks to be a pretty awesome Asus device, the Padfone 2. This is something to be really excited about considering the fact that in my experience Asus has never failed to create anything that wasn't a solid built product with impressive features. Without further ado here are the specs:
  • Qualcomm S4 Pro 1.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 4.7" Super IPS+ HD display
  • 13MP Rear camera
  • 1.2MP Front camera
  • LTE/HSPA+
  • 2140mAh battery
A very interesting part about the Padfone is that there is supposed to be a tablet dock that utilizes the phones hardware. This feature would integrate phone qualities into the tablet dock as well. However this could cause some concern with our friends at Verizon due to the fact that combining a phone and tablet under one data plan may go against their restrictions. Regardless of whether or not it makes it to Verizon (or the US at all), I am very interested to see how people feel about getting this device over the Samsung Galaxy S III because it could provide some great competition. This awesome "fone" is set to be unveiled on October 16th, so keep your eyes open, I know I sure will.

I would love to have the Padfone. Sadly, Verizon probably won't allow :(

I would be all over a droid phone made by Asus. I've had a couple of Asus laptops, and I must say that their hardware is exemplary. My laptop from 3 years ago still runs Prototype 2 quite well, and it was a modest variant at the time. I'd love the same level of quality in my pocket all day.

A good device for the price, but hardly exemplary quality. But I think it's different when you're making something for someone else.

Still not sure why Google, at this point in time, would have a product with their name on it not manufactured by Moto.
