Verizon has reportedly approved the Kit Kat updates for the Droid Razr HD, Razr Maxx HD, and Razr M devices.  If you'll recall, soak test invites for these devices were sent out last Tuesday, leaving approval from Verizon as the final hurdle to overcome before the updates start rolling out to the general public.  With this final piece of the puzzle in place, owners of these devices should be getting their Kit Kat love very soon.  More information on what's included in these updates can be found

I will add that this is no easy update.  IF you are pure stock, have always been pure stock, never rooted, never FXZ'd, this should go off without a hitch.  OTHERWISE, be prepared for difficulties.

I will also state that there is NO ROOT for this build.  Period, so if that is important and you are on a locked device, then don't update.

Those of you who are unlocked can replace root once you get to the point of having custom recovery using the

is the only option currently).

Before you take the update, you may want to read through

thread for some background resulting during the Soak.

If you have problems, we are here to help - just be mindful that this is a hobby and no one's job - so please be patient as I anticipate many with problems.

Added typface effects to emphasize what should be obvious but somehow never is.

I updated my stock, locked, Droid Razr Maxx HD to KK and only have a couple of frustrations:

  1. Can't find a "Silent Boot" program that silences the boot up.
  2. FoxFi only works in the USB Tethering or Bluetooth Tethering mode.

If anyone has any guidance on these two issues, I'd appreciate your input.

Thanks!

Just rename the boot sound in the media folder, that should get rid of the sound.
