Assuming you're on ICS, use Matt's Utility 1.8 to root.
Look through the ROMS and pick what looks good.

Hey, theres a section in the forum for new users a basic how to get started. Matt's utility is the simpliest and quickest way to root 4.04 assuming your razr came with ics. after rooting download safestrap 2.11 for recovery mode options. each rom will have a specific walk through on installation instruction about 99% of them need safestrap. theres a few jb ones with some bugs but nice to see whats up and coming.
