After I had an update for the Droid RAZR MAXX (XT926) from 4.1.2 to 4.4.2, I installed the update. The problem was that the Android installation was taken forever and I had to wait until the battery dies to restart the phone. Now, the OS is corrupted and what I'm having a problem is getting the files out of the Droid RAZR MAXX (XT926) from the internal storage. Is there any way to get these files backed up without having to erase everything or reformatting the partition table?

After this, it won't erase my internal storage data? I'm just so worried of my pictures and videos inside there.

Using the rsd script generator will create an XML that does not erase data.

Alright, I'll give it a try. If it becomes a success, I'll mark it solved. If it doesn't, I may need more assistance. Thanks

Just like Kaos said, you'll be good.  I ran this same method, but on my Razr M, and data was still intact.

Will it also work if I use the 4.1.2 firmware file? 4.0.4?

If your device started into the 4.4.2 update, depending on how far it got, you would have to stay on that build.  Otherwise, you can use the firmware version you were on.  Nothing before unless you have an unlocked bootloader.

I been having a hard time charging the phone because when I booted the phone in AP Fastboot, I ended up getting a 'Battery Low' dialog. Do I need to worry about this? How can I be able to charge the phone? I feel like it's not really charging.

Flashing on a low battery is a bad thing to do.  It can cause all sorts of problems.

If you can't get the phone to power off by holding the power button for 10secs, or get it to stay shut off when plugging into a WALL OUTLET to charge, then you need the adapter.  If it will power off, then you should be able to plug into the wall to get it to charge.  Plugging into the computer will cause a reboot.

I tried fastbooting with a low battery. The bootloader doesn't allow me to flash anything. So yea, I may need to buy a factory cable or build one.

Motorola's methods are not as easy as I did on Samsung's.

You think?  That's why there are warnings posted about having a charged battery, prior to flashing.
