MyApps

Have you ever had to perform a Data/Factory reset, and lost all of your apps? Do you hate having to re-install all of your apps, or wait on titanium backup to restore/backup all your apps?

I decided to create this simple flashable zip that you just throw all the apks of your favorite apps into, and you just simply flash it right after you flash your rom and gapps, so you boot your phone up with all your apps installed already.

As I am sure someone has done this already, I am still posting it just in case some people out there could not locate it or something..I use it, it's helpful, so why not share it?

Anyways, here's the instructions:

extract MyApps.zip. Please don't mess with any folders except for data/app/ only.

On your phone, make sure you have all the apps you want installed already. Before you connect it to your computer, please use a root file browser to copy all the apps you want from /data/app onto your SD card in an easily found place. I use Sdcard/apks.

Plug your phone into your computer, and copy all the apk files you want into the MyApps/data/app directory.

Re-zip the package, making sure to zip up only meta-inf and data, and dont goof up like me and zip up the next level directory or it wont work. Should look like this: MyApps.zip/data and Meta-inf, and data obviously has the apps folder in it with all your apps.

All you need to do now is copy over MyApps.zip to your SDcard.

Next time you have to do a data/factory reset, or you flash a rom that wipes the data folder, just flash MyApps.zip and you are good to go.

EDIT* Looks like it really is my personal MyApps..I left all my apps in it.

Sooo...when you first download MyApps.zip here's the included apps that you can delete if you want:

Google Chrome
ES File Explorer
Facebook
Youtube
Pandora
Fiberglas (where I work, please delete this unless you actually bank here)
TeamViewer
Twitter

This is going to be very useful for those of us who are addicted to flashing! :D

So what about data? Does this restore the data for your apps? Where do you put the data files?

Thanks for getting back to me. I really need to be able to restore data too, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on this. Thanks for all your hard work.

I've had this for a while it's the best thing I ever found! One suggestion though you don't have to unzip the zip to add the apks , I just open my zip with winrar and drag the apks into the zip. That way you don't have to worry about zipping the wrong folders.

There's an app for that: App2Zip (free & pro). You just tell it which apps to include (including system apps) & it will create a zip file for you to flash. I use it a lot.

Check out app2zip if you want data included.

I use this as well. It includes data and I like it because I don't have to try to figure out the name of the folder that the data for my app is in since it does the work for me. Apps are labeled differently in the data folder than in the app drawer. I use it to create a zip just before wiping the room so that it has the latest data

Apps2Zip seems a little more fancier.
