Have you told SamuriHL or mattlgroff? Anyone contact you?I was cheesecaking 6.7.246 trying to pull the 246 to 247 update patch and stumbled across something much more interesting; a 6.7.246 to 5.9.905 downgrade o.O
after pulling the downgrade i went back and cheesecaked 5.9.905 and pulled a new 6.7.246 update that is an engineering build; doesn't do us any good, but pulled the boot.img.p sha1 values for reference.
so i've been comparing the sha1 values for boot.img.p from the various files and things aren't quite adding up:
boot.img.p sha1 values:
905->246 (retail):
original: 1b2caac524ec83e9325391c89d8284c0b91eb588
desired: 1ab7fe7a753b9fd74ba6cd475b112823aae43f06
905->246 (engineering):
original: d8c98f433c0023c7353e794414cf0ece1a84828d
desired: 1ab7fe7a753b9fd74ba6cd475b112823aae43f06
246->905 (WTF):
original: 24ac4b09c340e515463ecbf9d1f1a5b192551c57
desired: 1b2caac524ec83e9325391c89d8284c0b91eb588
905->247:
original: 1b2caac524ec83e9325391c89d8284c0b91eb588
desired: 2b4c8b94b8bd7969098c9a3e9b7913bc5a98693e
as you can see comparing the retail and engineering 246 upgrades, original boot sha1 values are different, understandably, but desired sha1 values are identical. the 246-905 downgrade's desired sha1 matches the retail 246 original value, but it's original value doesn't match anything. wtf? i added the 247 sha1 values also for comparison.
this downgrade looks promising, but i'd be surprised if it actually works. if there are any brave testers out there, you are welcome to pm me for access to the file, with the undersanding that i am in no way responsible for anything bad that may happen to your phone. i will, however, gladly take credit if it turns out to work

Mattlgroff knows a lot more about this than I do, so I recommend you talk to him and have him look this over. It would be awesome to have a downgrade for Bionic users to have!

Randomly flash files;-)Considering 246 is an ICS upgrade and 905 is a GB rom, it would have to contain GB files in the update.

it fails when you flash it
there's a reason i didn't make this file widely available; we don't need a bunch of people bricking their devices. link is no longer shared. i'm sure someone will mirror it now but whatever; not my problem.

I was getting all excited as I thought it might make things really interesting, but he cdt.bin is the same as in the .905 FXZ, so this really is of no help to us at all.
I'd also like a link to he .246 engineering build, if possible....

It probably fails within 10 seconds of getting started - that messed up SHA-1 value for the boot will break it faster than you can say uncle.
