Just jumped from 238 to 242 and rooted with no problems. Thanks Samuri! All the time and effort you put into this tool from the first version up to this one is very much appreciated.

5.5 RELEASED

Small bug fix release to clean up some bugs I found while working on the House of Razr. You'll notice some of the text in the menus has also changed. For example, I removed 235+ warnings. That doesn't mean those warnings don't apply...see the OP. However, I'm trying to make the House a bit more unified so that eventually we can have a House of Moto to support D4/RAZR/Bionic. I'm currently a long way from that goal but these changes are to make it cleaner. Plus we're getting closer to an OTA for ourselves, and soon the 235+ warnings won't matter since we'll all be on the OTA with hopefully a new ICS FXZ.

Also something of note. I'm going to be taking down the 235 and 238 support installers today. At this point those that need them already should have them (or know how to add support for them anyway) and it just clutters things up. I really only want to support 232 and 242 at this point.

I can always rehost them if need be, but, at this point there's no reason anyone should be using 235 or 238 anymore. And those that are using them should already have HoB support for them anyway.

Great, thanks! Make sure you get the latest HoB, as well. I changed the way I generate the mini-fxz based on the fact that the RAZR updates are really screwy. I figure they might do that kind of crap to us in future leaks potentially. And I fixed a bug that no one noticed in the FXZ flashing routine. Nothing major, but, it exits the HoB as soon as the flashing is done which is not by design. And some other misc cleanup of the code to make it more in line with how I'm building the HoR.

So SamuriHL I saw in one of your earlier post on installing with a clean phone. At what point durring the install do you recomend doing the factory reset?

Instead of wiping the cache in recovery just do the factory reset.

I'm not sure I fully follow what you've done. You're saying you installed 235 and then tried to FXZ back to 905 and bricked? If so, you need to fix 235 before you do anything else. This procedure REQUIRES that the 235 update is on your SDCARD-EXT. If it's not there, you must pull the sdcard from the phone and somehow put it on there. Hopefully you followed my directions and left it on there.

o) Manually boot your phone in AP Fastboot and connect it to USB
o) Use the REINSTALL 235 option in the House of Bionic
o) Start in option 3 and then go to option 4

This will fix 235 and get you booting again. After that you can upgrade to 242 using the INSTALL 242 option.

thanks before sir, but how to put an update of 235 to my sdcard-ext...?
i'd tried to create folder 235, then run Addupdate.bat... error message: "error: device not found"

Um, where did I say to do any of what you just explained? :( You've GOT to read the OP fully. I have a limited amount of patience for hand holding and it's very frustrating when you don't read and do what I ask. You quoted what I said to do twice and what you did has nothing at all to do with the steps I laid out. I'm going to assume that you have installed the HoB following the directions in the OP. If you don't have the 235 support installer already, you're going to have problems because I've taken it off my hosting site. I'm not putting it back up yet again as I've already had to do it once today. If you need it, John Galt might be able to give you a link to it.

If your phone is bricked, you can NOT put the update on the phone without taking the SDCARD out of the phone and using a card reader of some kind, or another phone, etc to allow you to copy the update that is in the 235 directory onto the SDCARD. Until you do that, the rest of these steps are pointless because they won't work. Once you have the update on the SDCARD, follow the steps I outlined in the post you quoted twice.

Already tried sir, with another phone (not bionic, my photon with JB rom) but found error when pushed to folder data/data/...
is it still possible to fix my 235 bricked, if before i'd already failed to run install and reinstall with ur 242 file (got error on my previous post) ?
I thought working if just upgraded to ur 242 install from my 235 bricked....:(
Thanks

Why are you trying to put it in /data/data??? It needs to go in SDCARD-EXT. And no, you can't just upgrade a bricked 235 phone to 242. You need to unbrick it first. The only way to do that is to get the 235 update on your sdcard and then run the REINSTALL 235 option in the HoB.

Got error when i ran addupdate.bat sir, using other phone with sdcard. Looks like couldn't push the update file to sdcard..
How to change command in addupdate.bat if i want to use sdcard reader (eg. reader on drive L detected on my PC) ?
Thanks before.
