Hey Everyone,
Do you like using Pandora, IHeartRadio or any other internet radio apps on your phone or PC?
Then you'll want to take a look at this!
Internet radio is under attack and has been for a while!!
SiriusXM, which agreed is pretty much the same as these apps, only has to pay 10% of their revenue towards royalties...while Pandora alone payed 50% of their revenue towards royalties! Why is this you ask? Because the Government wants to control THE INTERNET!
This, in my opinion, is one small part of the SOPA Bill that U.S. Representative Lamar S. Smith introduced to try to "fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods" as read here
This Bill, if ever passed, will basically hand over all control of the internet to the Government.
BYE BYE POSTING ROM'S YOU'VE CREATED!
SEE YA LATER EBAY!
Might as well say goodbye to garage sales, IMHO!
But anyway, back to what I was saying...Please, if you love internet radio or feel like they should be treated as an equal to XM, email your Representative saying "I support the Internet Radio Fairness Act, bill number 6480."
Thanks for your time!
