hey guys! I just found out that kitkat came to the xt926! My phone is rooted running on stock rom and locked bootloader. Somewhere along the line i must have deleted the motorola services app that you need to get the ota update. when i got to system update it asks me to set up a Motorola account. It sits there and loads for about a minute then it says "this is taking longer than expected, we will continue to try in the background." Nothing ever happens after that. I did some research about it and people were having the same problem with it because the Motorola service app was disabled and they just enabled it and it worked. My problem is i don't even have to Motorola service app so i can't enable it. I have already did a factory reset twice and it hasn't came back. is there any place i can get the app again? I am trying to get to 4.4.2 so i can unlock the boot loader.

system version 9.30.1

android 4.1.2

I couldn't figure out how to do that method. I know the instructions are right there but I'm not confident with the process. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the Motorola service app back because it seem simpler that way. If anyone could give me more detailed directions for the xt926 ota upgrade thread I would really appreciate it.thanks

There's likely a way for you to get it back, but you will still fail OTA due to being rooted, and the 90.30.1 root method used a kernel modification, so it makes it fail. Just follow the instructions and you should be fine ☺

Okay so when it say unzip to a dictionary does that mean to unzip to a folder? can i just unzip to my desktop? Then i copy rsd script generator jar to fxz folder unzipped? And then what do i go to to run the script generator?

o) Unzip the FXZ to a directory

o) Copy the RSD Script Generator jar to the FXZ directory

o) Run the RSD Script Generator jar (You must have Java 1.7 or higher installed and

.  It's an executable jar)

o) Select the VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml file, and then press the Generate Scripts button

o) Open RSD and select the KEEP DATA script in the FXZ directory

o) Put your phone in AP Fastboot mode and connect it to a USB 2 (not USB 3) port with your original OEM cable.  (WARNING: Battery must be charged!)

o) Flash the script with RSD

Devices don't really show in RSD. The only thing you will see is connected. As for start, you have to direct it to the xml file first.

What do you mean by direct it to the XML file? Sorry I've never used RDS before

I am sorry, I see you have. In the fifth item it tells you to select the keep data xml. To do this in rsd, push the browse button. It is the three periods " ... " then go to the folder where the xml you created is located. Sent from my S-Offed One M8

Okay did that. Now I put my phone in ap fast boot and plug it in. Then it should show that it's connected in rds somewhere? Then I press start?!
