Well would you believe it if I told you I pounded it out, I put TR on my external, along with motopocalypse, and supersu apk... I just did it as I could it would boot I did my best to get tr, then moto, then supersu, when I got tr installed I rooted it between after a few rebooting cycles, then got MA to finally install, then supersu, then went back and worked to getting MA to unlock... and just now rebooted into AP Fastboot to see Device is UNLOCKED Status Code: 3!!

At last some progress... maybe lol, now time to try downgrading? :D

UPDATE! I was able to successfully downgrade to 9.30, and it appears to be stable again, hasn't rebooted or locked up yet!

Now I just have to get this annoying "bootloader unlocked" message when I reboot lol

Glad you got that taken care of...  Now you can fastboot TWRP in and also a new boot logo will take care of that annoying unlocked bootloader logo. Welcome to the world of Moto unlocked.

Now that I see that you can see a warning label on boot your device was not fully updated. When I took the official OTA then unlocked I never got that annoying unlocked bootloader warning. There where older parts on the device not being updated properly, but all and all you can still fastboot to 183 now with the universal script and put in TWRP to control it better then Stock recovery...

If you're rooted, the easiest thing is to grab the appropriate TWRP image for your base version (hint: for JB it's not the latest), then flash it using flashify (on the play store).  Then reboot into recovery and you're golden.  From here on out you no longer need root exploits, either.

Yea I re-rooted once I got it running again in 9.30. I take it I just need to find a TWRP image for android 4.1.2?  That would be my base version right? Or do I need to be looking for something else that would be my base version?  I also take it you mean once I get the recovery flashed no more su/tr/motoapoc to get me root should I need it?

Yes, I have a bit of looking around to do now. I'm sure I will want to check out some ROMs, I just don't know which ones to really check out.

Whew! That's a relief that you got it all worked out. Way to persevere on this.

Funny thing is I've tried to reinstall the fxz for the 183 kk, and it just reverts back to doing the same boot, +- 2 min reboot thing... so crazy, guess I'm stuck with JB :(

Well since your unlocked now you can update to the 183, then fastboot twrp Kit Kat version nd use it to format the internal storage to the proper partitions. I believe that option is in with the wipe section of the recovery. That will erase everything on the internal storage so FYI.

I will have to try that way, would be nice to be able to run kk instead of jb but if not I think I could be happy with this black alien :)

Well, you're getting another OTA this week, so, you'll want to try to get 183 fixed.

WAY too early for 5.  I believe they're pushing out 4.4.4 but it could just be another build of 4.4.2 for all we know.  We're going to find out really soon as we're told the soak could start as early as tomorrow.
