Then it's down to port/driver/cable issue.  You can try switching to the House of Moto and use the fastboot mode but I doubt it'll change anything.  You can try, though.

It's not bricked.  Well, not permanently.  The issue is that it failed to send the system partition.  So as a result of that you're in the state you're in now.  System is over a gig in size which is why I say it's incredibly likely to be a cable/port/driver issue.  Must be a USB 2 port.  Using the original OEM cable that came with the phone (yes, it matters), and you must have the latest moto USB driver installed.

You can try a different computer also. There's things my lap top simply won't do when it should so I use my wife's. I'd you're able to get to fastboot mode you should be fine.

If you don't want to look at it, I'll take it ;)
But in all seriousness, make sure your drivers are up to date, make sure its a Motorola cable, make sure you have all correct settings, and make sure you have the right fxz.
