Because. 247 is not the Ota you should downgrade to . 246 ASAP so you will be on the path. Since there is now a possibility we are getting JB it's the only way you'll be able to get it.

We're not getting JB anytime soon. If you look at the new calendar of events on Moto's page, the focus to get JB before 2013 is only for the RAZRHD, RAZR MAXX HDand RAZR M. All other devices say they will get JB - but not before 2013.

I ain't waiting around for 3 months to be on the update path. I'm on .247 and it works perfectly fine for me right now, so I'll stay there.

Yes... ICS leaks count down well below 246. I'm still on 232

Now we are talking about different things

If you want THE ota update... There are options that John or samurai will cover. For me... I will fxz back to 905 and take the update from Verizon. The update being released will be 246.

If you're not taking ota... You can stay on 247 like John said. Then just have to deal with getting JB later.

It's just the OTA build, not really anything else diff...but if ur not on OTA (ie 246) u will not be able to get the JB update...should we get it soon.

.247 stock - I haven't put a ROM on this phone since the leaks first came out - mainly b/c I am a thorough beta tester and I don't hav the time right now to test ROms - I'm writing my thesis for defense in a month.

There will be builds made internally by Moto developers to test various aspects of JB on their phones. Whether we have a working cheesecake for .246 so we can find these leaks is the real question. If cheesecake is updated for .246 then yes, we will be able to get these leaks the same way we have gotten them up until now.

I posted a diff between the files in .246 and .247 - mostly system stuff, radio kernel, etc. are all the same IIRC.

We're note getting it soon. The Moto page shows that RAZR M, RAZD HD and RAZR MAXX HD are getting it before 2013, and all the rest of us are 'just getting it'.

Again, only if cheesecake is updated to work with .246 (or if a new app is introduced to include the same functionality to search the various moto servers for builds). Otherwise....
