As of today the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon is a 16GB only device, not a 32GB, as it has been since it launched on Verizon in December of 2011. Verizon has released a 16GB version, which will be permanently replacing the 32GB.

The 16GB device is the exact same as the 32GB device, only difference is internal storage space. Keep in mind, the Galaxy Nexus doesn't have an SD Card slot, so 16GB of internal storage is now all you have. You can pick up the device for $49.99 on contract, or you can purchase it off contract for $499.99.

Of course you also have the GSM version that is sold directly through Google, which is a 32GB device. Keep that in mind too.

So how does everyone feel about this? I think this is a bad move, honestly. Although if storage is not a problem, this could be a good device for you if you like full customization.

Meh, the Galaxy Nexus is on its way out. If someone really has to have a 32GB model, they can go to Swappa or Ebay and get one. Someone's always selling one.

Not to mention it's $150 less expensive for those of us paying full price. And it won't lock you into a specific carrier.

I disagree. Just because new Nexus devices are coming, doesn't mean the Gnex has reached the end of the road. Every Android version that comes out is quickly being pushed to the Gnex. Either by Google or by the devs. Battery is not much of an issue anymore thanks to kernels coming out. Radio has not been an issue either, no static, not 1 dropped call. The Gnex is a good device that failed at first. I never wanted to own one but I took a chance and couldn't be happier. It sure doesn't have a Maxx battery, but it's good battery nonetheless. Build quality is not as bad as people say either. I was holding mine up to my face the other day and dropped it on a hardwood floor, the result was 2 little dings by the bottom left corner. That's it. (I'm 5'10" by the way)

I bought one when it first came out. One day, my battery went from 90% down to 30% with just an hour and a half of continuous internet browsing, and that was with the extended battery on 3G. Sold it the following week. That is not good battery, not even close, IMO.

As soon as the Galaxy Note II comes out, I'll be selling my Maxx. Bigger screen, quad-core, 2 GB of RAM, no lag, big battery. Can't wait. :)

I completely understand, but as you said, you bought it when it first came out. I agreed that the device was a fail in the beginning, but thanks to changes in software, radios and stuff like that. I get about 17 hours out of mine with light / moderate use and an extended battery. Again, not a Maxx battery, but better than the OG RAZR.

I feel the price move is to entice people to buy an aging phone. With a splash of new phones all within the last few months GS3, Razr M, Razr HD/Maxx, a new Nexus device on the horizon, the Note 2...just watch. I'm sure they'll make the same move with the OG Razr as well.

For new customers lol. However it says $29.99 for those on a family account. That's always a good thing I suppose.

Aww damn, you're right. I always thought the price was for new contracts... that would be a steal. Still, 29.99 isn't bad for family plan activation.
