Well, the rumor mill has been swirling about this one. The infamous Key Lime Pie looks like it will be announced at Google's big event next Monday. Gizbot has reported some key new features to expect, so I'll break them down the pertinent info:

Project Roadrunner: Not in any way related to Project Butter, this is supposed to decrease the Android OS's energy consumption to allow for lighter, thinner phones.

Quick Settings: Not much new here if you're running ANY ROM released in the past 6 months. Just gives you more quick toggles.

Increased Security: LOTS of security upgrades, SELinux, VPN Lockdown and SMS Conformation.

(Love this one!) Multiple User Accounts: You'll be able to log in and out of different user accounts on one device. Not sure how I, personally, would use this, but I'm sure many of you will probably benefit from this feature.

New GMAIL / Gallery / Google Play store: Standard upgrades.

Of course, the news team will be keeping a close on eye on the event next Monday and will keep the community posted on any breaking news!

I also heard that the quick setting will be a send pull down in the notification shade. So pull down the status bar once to open notifications then with that open pull down the status bar again to get to quick settings.

Shouldn't it be decrease the energy consumption?
And the user accounts would be key for a family tablet...not sure many share their phones.
Hopefully some new devices will be announced as well

This is pretty cool stuff! Cant wait. Although I probably wont have a phone with this for another year. I actually heard this update would retain the jellybean name though.

Yeah the event was cancelled, but the info was still released. Android 4.2 (which is still JB) which has some improvements to Google Now, keyboard with swype features, Photo Sphere, some others. Also, upgraded Nexus 7, but still $200. Nexus 10 by Samsung with a better than Retina display and some other pretty solid specs. Nexus 4 by LG, also solid specs.

Cant wait to see user accounts implemented into tablets. Been wanting that badly. Sucks sharing a tablet with someone and thereby giving them access to most of your apps/data etc.
