As for the polls, yeah, we grossly underestimated how many greedy people there are who think they are entitled to everyone else's money.

As I've said, providing for people isn't in the government's purview. Private charity does far more for the poor. Public charity creates more dependence on charity.

Government spending is the problem. Government gets less revenue when tax rates are higher. Higher rates stifle economic growth, which results in less revenue.

If you took all of the money from the evil rich you wouldn't fund government for as long as you think, because government spending is so out of control.

The way government is going about it is creating an ever-shrinking pool of producers while creating an ever-growing pool of non-producers who demand more and more.

What needs to happen is government must get back to the founding principles. Only provide for what is enumerated in Article 1 Section 8. Allow PRIVATE charity to provide for the truly needy. And we would have to slowly wean people from the government tit.

You will see either way that government will get smaller. It has to. If we reduce its size, it'll be painful. We'll have to take care for ourselves. I know, that's a scary concept.

If we don't reduce its size, it's going to collapse. That will be infinitely more painful. And you won't recognize your country.

And for the record, just because Obamacare was modeled after Romneycare doesn't mean it's a good idea. Neither are going to work very well because government makes a mess out of EVERYTHING.

Government could screw up a cast iron turd, which is difficult to do because it's cast iron. And, well, it's a turd.

Unleash the private sector and have government do its one job of protecting people's unalienable Rights and things will take care of themselves. THAT is how we became the greatest, richest country in the world.

Anyone happen to notice that Wesalex's favorite poll watcher, Nate Silver, at the fivethirtyeight blog (or whatever it's called) pretty much nailed ALL the wins except for one senate race?

[sarcasm] So yeah, the polls were way off...[/sarcasm]

I'm sure Wesalex is above tooting his own horn (so to speak), so I thought I'd post the "I told you so." for him...

Thank you sir. You are correct. I let the results say that for me. November 6th was a happy day for me and dems alike. Now if Romney only showed the bi-partisan attitude during his campaign that he did when during his concession speech things might have been different. All water under the bridge now though. I am looking forward to how the next four years are! Time for us all to come together and work together for one goal, America!!
