Update: Thanks to tusctwo, chrisc2u, and iamgodlike87 for informing me that root is still possible using the existing method or using OTA Rootkeeper.

The DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR Maxx HD are now receiving their first software update to add a Google Security Patch. This means that it is recommended not to accept this OTA update if you want root and/or are already rooted. If you feel comfortable taking it though, it is rolling out to all owners now.

The update is 6 MB in size.

The update did remove root access for my phone, but I was able to root again without any issues. Several others are reporting successfully rooting after the update as well.

OTA root Keeper does work on this. I just updated with it and it all seems fine.
