I've updated my XT926 to KitKat (183.46.14), Rooted and Unlocked (Status Code: 3) without incident (thanks to MANY on this forum). That all works and eveything is verified and good there.
My issue is, after flashing another recovery image it will not boot into Recovery. Once I try to flash another recovery image, the ONLY way it will boot into Recovery is if I re-flash the stock recovery images. Also, NEVER will it reboot to Recovery from the device itself (e.g. from ROMToolbox, etc.). Using the buttons or "adb reboot recovery" are the only ways I can get into recovery.
When I say it wont boot into Recovery, what it does exactly is:
I VolUp-VolDn+Pwr to get to the first bootloader menu. I select Recovery. I get the red "M" logo and that's it. It is unresponsive until it times out and reboots into a normal reboot (or I Pwr-VolDn). No "Andy in distress", nothing.
What I have done so far:
- Renamed install-recovery.sh
- Downloaded the latest for the device (6.0.4.4-xt926)
- Tried a few other CWM images I've come across.
- Tried a TWRP image, though not sure I had the right one.
- SamuriHL's
- tucstwo's (after updating to the latest adb version)
- adb shell su -c dd if...... (command copied from tucstwo'sRFV6's run.bat above)
- dd if=... from a terminal emulator in the device.
This is the portion of the script from tucstwo's RFV6's run.bat. That thread is a bit dated, is this (still) correct?
I'm probably missing something, but I'm at a loss.
