Has anyone been able to get there screen to turn on when you receive a text message? If so what settings did you have to change to get it to work.

You can use an app like ACDisplay to mimic the active notifications of the X.

 

OR, I think you can use Tasker and set up a profile to do what you need.  You might be able to find someone who's already done it and shared the profile.

Also most third party messaging apps have that option...
