Bootlooped Razr HD

Best Answer SamuriHL , 04 September 2014 - 05:38 PM

It powers off just fine, but no matter whether I plug it up after it's off or I have it plugged up while it's bootlooped, it stays off for a minute or so with the green notification light on and then goes straight to the M logo screen. I've also tried it with the USB charging cable that came with it. Any way to get around it?

Hi, new to the forums.

I used to have custom roms and the like when I used my motorola X and X2 and a couple of phones before that, but with the way Motorola was going with making everything difficult for modders I lost patience. But a couple of months ago when I received the OTA update for KitKat, my phone bootlooped. I tried to wipe the data and cache several times over, but to no avail. I've been lurking the forums on and off hoping to catch a helpful thread, but everything I've tried has just been BS. Can someone please help! I'm tired of using an older phone that's limited to gingerbread and I don't currently have the funds to get a new one! I'm willing to try just about anything to get it running again! I've even looked into Ubuntu for phones, but with the research I did, it doesn't look like I can load it at the moment, at least not until I get it out of it's current bricked state. I'm with Verizon if that helps.

Thanks,

xChowderrrx

The easiest answer is to check out Sam's House of Moto...... As long as you follow all the directions properly you should have your phone up and running in a matter of a few minutes......

Won't work because my battery is too low :/

Wouldn't happen to know any way to charge it other than striping a cable?

You will need a "factory" adapter or cable .....

Turn it off and plug it into an AC adapter, NOT usb.

Unfortunately does not work either. Just keeps it in bootloop. I've tried several of the methods found on these forums and XDA, but it just keeps bootlooping no matter how or what I plug it into and what combination of turning off, buttons pressed and unplugging/replugging. :/

You have to hold the power button for quite a while to get the phone to power off when you're boot-looping.

Excellent, thank you Samurai! I was uninformed to the difference between a factory cable and the standard USB. That's my fault for not doing my research, but again, thanks for your help!

And I just noticed that's what johnthehillbilly linked to, so thank you as well!

Finally got my adapter today and worked like a charm! Used your HouseOfMoto and the FXZ, and badabing badaboom, I saw the boot sequence for the first time in 7 months! Thank you so, so much Samurai! :D

You're going to hate me Samurai, but I botched it already :(

I had it running, rooted, unlocked, custom recovery, all that going. I was in the process of installing a rom, but I forgot to put my sd card in and put the files on there, instead of on my phone storage. So, I went into twrp, formatted dalvik, data, system and cache, but didn't even think about the fact that it would also wipe the files on the phone itself. So now I'm stuck with no OS, no way to get the files onto my phone. I tried to use your HouseOfMoto again (Using the exact same method that I successfully used just hours ago), but before I can even see the error it gives me, the window closes itself. Here's the log:

EDIT: Nevermind. My computer finally decided to recognize my phone in TWRP and I was able to transfer files over and flash. >.>
