Hi I am new here and have a question. I am using ninjamorph and for the life of me cannot find which file to change to add a custom background to the pull down menu. I am running stock ICS 4.0.4 rooted. I cant find it anywhere on google and all the sites i tried refer to notification_tracking_bg.png or status_bar_background.9.png. None of those work. Please help thanks.
may help with what you are trying to do.

I know moto change the name of the file but I am not running stock ICS at the moment so if you can send me the SystemUI.apk I can dig through it and figure it out.

I don't know anything about ninjamorph, so this may be beyond what is possible with that method.
I will look at it and report back.

SystemUI.apk/res/values/drawables.xml
Line 12 should be the following...
<item type="drawable" name="notification_tracking_bg">#d8000000</item>
Delete that line completely and save.
Now create the background image you want. Make it 540px x 960px
Name that image notification_tracking_bg.png
Put that image in the following place.
SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi

After that you can either use ADB to push it to your phone, or a file manager.

If there is no values folder then you have not decompiled the apk. Values does not show until it is decompiled.Well I am lost lol...I tried to use apktool from here :
but no luck there is no values folder to edit the notification background
