So, I did some research this morning, but probably won't have time to actually attempt this.

It appears that we use the same chip as the htc one x...

So you can use a kernel module instead of fooling with new kernels/locked boot loaders and bricks. I found this thread for overclocking the evo 4G LTE, same as the HD:

Looks easy enough, a module, backup a config file and push a new config file. Anyone have time to try this?

I tried this last night and realized it needs to be tweaked a bit to work with our device, I tried for an hour or so to port it over but ran into a few issues, later tonight i'll give it another shot and see what I can come up with.

would really love to see what limit mine has. it could use a few extra horses at times. mainly when downloading using adownloader or playing gta3 or san andreas

Very interesting! I wonder if this could be tweaked for other kernel related features that we are hindered due to our locked boot loader.

Have you guys made any progress on this?

Yeah, the byte code kernel has built in over clocking to 1.7GHz last I checked and I have heard as high as 2.1GHz stable for some people.

I'm running R3 and I don't see any options for over clocking. Am I missing it?

Could have sworn you added it at one point to appease people. I know you don't personally see any benefits from it. Maybe not, as convenient as tapa talk is I find myself reading from the wrong threads (and seeing posts attributed to the wrong people) way too often. Apologies.

Any way of oc'ing on a blur ROM yet? I ran several 4.2 ROMs with byte codes kernel over clocked but I can't deal with the piss poor radio signal

As far as I know there isn't yet. Not for Blur based ROMs. I'll look into it and see if moto released the full kernel source.
