Hi i am in the UK i saw the main page today saying ICS has been leaked its instuctions are
1. Download the file
2. Rename it to "update.zip" and place it on the root of your external SDCard
3. Go into Motorola's Recovery
4. Go! Go! Go! Posted Image

i did this went to recovery and im guessing i select update from sd which i choose when i did that it checked file said ok updating and i got this:
"assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop". "ro.build.fingerprint") == "MOTO/XT910_RTGB/umts_spyder:2.3.6/6.5.1-167_spu-15-M2/1326788504:user/release-keys" ||

e:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

can i downgrade firmware then ? i have 651.73.30.xt910

its an upgrade you will be on 2.5.5 that is 2.5.6 you have 651.73 that is 651.167
167 is a bigger number than 73
so you upgrade to that version and then upgrade again to ICS
as i said i did this worked fine till i loaded ICS and the display was messed up and it kept crashing android when i tried to unlock the screen but i all my $#!+e was still installed so i did a factory reset memory wipe from recovery console and now ICS is fine

Looks to be en.EU, so probably not

On the cdma version when its a leak we first make sure we are stock then we use stock recovery to apply the leaked update unless what y'all have is a fast boot file. I know y'all are GSM and its different I'm just throwing it out there cuz I would assume its the same but could be wrong

right to save confusion this is what i did
1) i downloaded that file and renamed it update.zip then copied it to the root of the phones SDcard
2)turned phone off
3)held both volume keys and power
4)selected motorola recovery
5) got android symbol pressed volume keys again to get menu
6) selected update from sdcard select update.zip
7) once phone updated select restart phone
8) delete update.zip from sdcard
9) copy the ics file to Root of sdcard renamed it update.zip
10) do steps 2-7 again
11) have ICS

This apears to ONLY work on GSM NOT CSMA and seams to only work if you have EU retail version
any futher questions just ask and i will try and help you
at no point do you need to plug into pc other than to transfer the zips to the sdcard
