Well I can tell you I sure am. We got our shipment of MAXX's in today, and I set it down beside my little white bundle of joy. It sits a whole 2-ish millimeters higher than mine. It doesn't have quite of a lip as the OG Razr (who ever thought we'd be using that term this soon?!) at the top as I thought it would.

Overall, the build quality feels just as solid. In fact, the buttons are much firmer and don't feel like they're going to fall off. I'm SO MAD I didn't hold out for this phone. Being able to have the option to charge my phone once every couple days is one of the most desirable features for smartphones, hands down.

I hope and pray there will be a conversion kit and that the battery isn't in a different position. Hell if I have to I will make one for myself if it's possible. Damn you, Motorola. Damn you.

Dude who cares. It's always going to happen. You buy a [camera, phone, home theater receiver, car, tv, etc.] and a "better" one comes out shortly after. It's life in a post modern, materialistic world of constantly changing technology. My OG Razr rocks and I have no issues going all day with a single charge. It's not that hard to set my phone on my desk dock when I go to bed and, OMFG it's charged up again when I wake up!!!! I'm 14 hours in on a charge and still at 50% battery.

Agreed, but the OG Razr is the flip-phone, not the Droid RAZR :P

Motorola is bad lately..the Bionic to Razr was only 2 months.....now this just over 2 months....I really would like the Maxx myself,I dont know how any of you are getting full days use out of the Razr, but im down to 40% by noon most days, and im not comfortable under 40%....I am not using heavy either,If i do im at 40% by 10am,I get up at 530am,and I need to charge for at least an hour or more mid day to even think about getting a full days use....

The bionic to razr was an actual major change with the screen quality. If I bought a Bionic I would be starting threads like this, complaining like crazy. But the Maxx is just a bigger battery. Just be glad you don't have a Thunderbolt and get on with your life (for those of you that are "mad")

I'd assume you either need to set smart actions, kill some bloat, install JuiceDefender, turn down your screen brightness/set to auto, or get the phone replaced. I personally use Smart Actions to control turning on/off cellular data, JuiceDefender Beta + Ultimate to turn on/off wifi (being able to configure per app is very helpful), and have about half the Moto bloat frozen. Also, make sure Pocket Detection is off, it doesn't work well and it has a noticeable impact on the battery. There is a whole thread on here about how to get more battery life. The only way I drain my battery quickly is if I am playing a game and 4G is enabled. Considering very few of the games I play need internet access, I let JuiceDefender keep it shut off while I play them.

It's not that there's a huge difference between the Razr and the Maxx, it's the concept I am pissed about. I can easily get 16+ hrs out of my phone. Life won't come to an end lol, it's just frustrating that Moto and Verizon pop out a new phone every month. Maybe some of us, such as myself are just too hooked on technology. But you have to admit it's frustrating.

If it followed the normal tech cycle 6-12 months I would be fine but I guess when you throw down thus much money its irritating. My question is how does moto do it and make a profit? Part of the product cycle is the profitable end where the parts cost a bit less and you make more on it.....

Thanks...I've done all the above ..smart actions doesn't help me at all because if I use it I can't get my data connection back about half the time ..I don't have time for that ....sometimes it's 3 tries of the apple app and a reboot before I get it back...and I shut the screen for a second and its gone again... juice defender blocks my mms, and shuts data between songs on Pandora..my screen is down all the way and its still too bright even with screendim box checked ..I tried an app on the market for reducing it further but the colors got wierd and I thought I damaged the screen ...a reboot fixed it..uninstalled that app....I never turn off wifi, if I'm on a strong connection..otherwise I always leave off wifi,Bluetooth and GPS ...I got the razr second hand a month old from a relative ...I don't think I have any warranty ..just Assurion and I'd rather have this than a refurbished one...

If you head over to ifixit.com they tear down the razr and make it quasi easy to theoretically put the bigger battery in and cover it up with the maxx backplate and you get the razr maxx. Just glue it back together. Seriously thinking about doing this myself.

Yeah but where are you going to get the Maxx battery and backplate?

I seriously don't understand why Moto didn't put a Li-Po battery in both of these phones. Could have gotten Maxx length in a normal Razr, and insane length out of the Maxx.

Yeah but they could have just charged more. I would gladly have paid more for that kind of life.

If I could find any kind of trustworthy information as to if it would hurt the phone or not I would swap my Li-Ion out for a Li-Po in a second. Maxx life (or more) out of a Razr body? Now that would be beastly.

This thing (

) would almost fit in there, if we could find one that uses the space efficiently we could fit at least 3,000 mAh in there.

I know they don't last long, are a pain to take care of, and it would be a pain to find one that works perfectly. But I seriously think it would be worth the effort.
