Wondering if anyone out there has been experiencing these occurrences?  It's been happening to my XT926 at least once a day, even when not in use.  The bootloader is unlocked and I'm on the most updated version (.15).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You may have an app that is not playing nice...... Or (like me) extreme use, one way or the other, causing it to heat up etc......

You can always go here

[FXZ]-4.4.2-183.46.15 and "nuke and repave" to see if that helps

This definitely sounds like a run-away app. I would also suggest looking at the Wakelock Detector app ->

This can let you know what is waking up a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if it was either something synching or you have a rogue app that doesn't play nice with KK.

This had to do with the verizon update 4.4.2. May or June.  Mine had the same sympons you are describing. The only way I got the hot battery to go away was to reboot. It does have to do with gps I think. I notiticed that whenever I used it I would have to reboot. My phone would just reboot whenever it wanted.  All of these problems went away when I installed cyangenmod.  One of my phones just received a new update yesterday. If you want to install cymod. dont accept this update. your build has to be before June.   If you do install it make sure that gps is turned on before you attempt. or you will have no gps in cyomod after install. I dont know if the latest update from verizon will fix these problems. zskynyd.

I bit the bullet and installed a custom rom (Dirty Unicorn) this afternoon.  Gonna give it a shot and see if it improves things.

Update (10/17/14):

The Dirty Unicorns ROM seems to have solved my issue.  Been running it for several days without any hitches.
