Need to vent.

So I offer to give one of my bartenders a ride home because he doesn't have a car. He happily accepts because he doesn't want to have to pay cab fare (again). How does karma reward me? Speeding ticket on my way home. FML.

That's not Karma...thats just driving to fast.....hopefully you can get it reduced...I did the same thing about 10 years ago...stayed late after work to help one of my guys fix his truck..ended up making myself late getting getting home to get kids off the bus ..2 blocks from home..cop shooting radar ....I was going 34 in a 25...I got busted lol...

The most interesting question I have ever had in an interview was "How fast do you drive?". Afterwards, I asked what they ask that for, and the answer has shown to be very true the more I watch how I, friends, and family drive. I was told, that it covers a few bases. First off, honesty. Most people speed at least a little bit, although most people answer the question saying they sit right on the speed limit. Some people might be telling the truth, but most who say that are likely liars. Second, it is a personality test. Those that drive fast tend to be more dominant/aggressive personalities, which is what you want in somebody who makes a living by innovating and optimizing (I'm a Biomedical/Biomechanical Engineer with a very much multi-focus position). On the other hand, those that drive just at or below the limit tend to be much calmer people that are more suited for a position where you handle scenarios with known solutions (customer service, retail pharmacist, etc). Given that you said "one of MY bartenders" and not "one of THE" I would assume this holds true for you as well. Obviously, there are always exceptions, especially if someone has a history involving accidents.

So yeah, I agree, it's not Karma. It is just the result of you being a more driven person than the cops can handle :P
