VZW has gone and given us the good news that 9.1.41 will go official. This is our JB goodness for all to enjoy. Rollout is to start next week "in phases."

Notable changes that might be viewed as bugs or missing and known bugs:
- HDMI support seems rather limited at the moment. Overscan options have been removed from the display settings and images (at least on my TV) seem squished horizontally
- Theming is much lighter than most other software Moto has released. This is intentional. Software keys/people app etc are now vanilla.
- Mass storage has been removed from the USB connectivity options.
- Swiping between home screens will sometimes skip a screen.
- It seems a little too easy to overload the RAM and cause music to skip and choppy behavior after extended up time. This lends me to believe there are some memory leak issues. This persists through wipes when doing things like navigation and spotify at the same time for extended periods.

If you want to get a head start you can install it now

Please note: I will tease you incessantly if you forget the 1st ota and ask why you can't install this (I won't lie. I forgot the first time and it took me 5 minutes to figure out wtf I was doing wrong :P).

Instructions for those who have never sideloaded an update:

1) Make sure you are on and UNMODIFIED installation of the latest OTA (7.2). No safestrap, no freezing apps outside of what can be disabled in the app settings ie: no TIBU freezes etc. Root is fine and will be detailed below.

2) If you do not root or wish to retain root skip to step # 3. Rooting after the update is not currently possible.

-----------2a) Rooted peeps: Install OTA Rootkeeper. Go into your Superuser app and update your binaries to the most current build.
-----------2b) Go into OTA Rootkeeper and protect root. You should now have 5 boxes all checked.

3) Download the file referenced above in this post. Drop it onto your EXTERNAL sd card (/mnt/external1)

4) Reboot your phone into stock recovery (adb reboot recovery or power down your phone and hold your volume keys while holding the power button and select recovery using vol +)

5) Select update from external using the volume keys for navigation and Power to select

6) Locate the update file and press power on it. It will verify the integrity of the update file and your current system before trying to install. If you're on the wrong version (ie: you've forgotten to do the first OTA) or have a modified system these checks will fail.

7) Wait.

8) Wait longer (it takes a while and may appear frozen. Don't interrupt the update process as you'll soft brick).

9) Once the update is finished, select reboot and press power.

10) Restoring root for those who were rooted pre-update and did 2a/b: Once the system is up and running. Go into OTA Rootkeeper and restore root

11) Profit. Enjoy.

So does this mean they are forgoing the soak test all together? If I install this can I go back to ICS using Matt's utility?

That is a very good question I would assume that the soak has already happened but I may be wrong

Must be on stock ICS to apply.

Will not apply over the first leak.

Utility > root > voodoo > temp unroot > recovery > install

Please give the whole error. Almost every error says that line, but gives a lot more information that we need.

Please do not Personal Message me for help or troubleshooting. They will be ignored. Post in threads or start one in Q&A sections.

I thought I responded back to this thread, but apparently I didn't... I was an idiot and reverted back to ICS from the leaked JB build and didn't install the incremental ICS update after reverting, hence the failure. The .zip worked fine after I pulled my head out of my bum, and my MAXX HD is now running the Verizon approved OTA. Thanks for posting the .zip!

Another fine news article! For taking the time to write this up, I do hope the OG Razr isn't that far behind us!

Hmm. Noticed the HDMI over scan settings have been removed. Anyone on ics that can check to see if they're there under display like the original razr?

I just checked and it over scan option is there.

If I install this, since it's not an OTA update, will it take me off the upgrade path? I'm asking since we can revert back to ICS from this.

If I choose to install this, but decide I want to revert back to ics to take the official ota, can I use Matts toolkit to do it?
