I was using safestrap initially, but after reading on the eclipse .01 thread I decided to get rid of it,I fastbooted back, and stasrted over...I deleted all my safestrap files and backups from my SD card, and installed bootstrap. Ive used bootstrap extensively on my droid x and x2,and when i made the first backup,I noticed it took a very long time to make it,over 10 minutes, also wiping data took almost 5 minutes, compared to my other phones, and my gtab,it wass very slow...so i made a backup of the stock fresh 2.3.6 leaked software, and flashed eclipse...after setting it all up i made another backup and tried to go back to the stock rom,and the md5s matched,it went thru almost to the end,and said system backup failed....when i rebooted,it was as if i factory reset.i was back on the stock rom but it was wiped...so i did another factory rest to be sure i was clean, and now im back on the stock rom....anyone know if the long backup times are normal and what might have happened...I bet i restored 200 backups on my droid x and never had one issue...Im afraid to try to go to my backup of eclipse again....i dont have time to set it up again today...lol.

Yes that sounds normal, mine takes longer than my previous phones.
Did you make sure you were on version .173 before flashing eclipse?

Yes I was definitely on. 173. That leak saved me from getting rid of this phone ...I literally have no data when I'm not on. .173...I tried going back to try a different Rom....forget it this thing is a wifi only phone on. 744 or .748...

that fail has happened to me everytime i've tried to restore. to get around it i usually wipe data/factory reset then restore...let it fail then reboot. it has actually restored the system but not the data....then i boot back in if i want to restore my data and use the advanced restore to just get data. so far...for me....it's worked everytime! if i forget to wipe before a restore i just boot back into the sotck recovery and wipe data/factory reset then reboot.

Thanks...What's ironic is that I needed to sign into Google again....it was like a factory reset ....
