Hey guys im debating on getting the Razr Maxx mainly for the Battery Power. But i costs and extra $100 @ Verizon vs the Standard Razr. Does anyone know if a Razr Maxx BATTERY will fit in the Razr Standard Headset?

If so i'll just pick up the standard and save $100 buck and buy the Battery and Door. THnx ALL

It should fit but i think you're much better off just buying the Maxx to begin with.

If someone actually tries this let us know. I've been debating the same thing personally.

I was just reading about this. Do you know if they offer any kind of discount or exchange price? I bought my razr at the beginning of December so my exchange time is expired. I would love to know how just buying the battery and door works out.

I think there was a company looking at producing the Maxx battery for the Razr, but I don't believe anything is available yet.

The Maxx is thicker than the Razr. You would have to change the back and the card access door in addition to the battery. I would be willing to do it if I could get the parts.

Agreed. was just talking to a couple guys in chat about this and they didn't quite understand. and the card access door may not have to be changed.

Even if I had to buy the whole housing and just swap the guts of this one into the Maxx frame I'd be ok with that.

There is a guy over at xda that has both and swapped the back covers and batteries. Everything lines up as it should except one little thing. The maxx has an extra bit of plastic under casing that supports the outer shell. It is the black ring that encircles the battery. On the maxx it's taller to allow for the thicker extended battery.

I guess if you were gonna replace the back and battery you would need a piece of black plastic the exact shape of the missing plastic. If not it seems like the shell would be a little flimsy and may crack if you dropped or otherwise mishandled it.

Personally i like the thinness of my og droid razr. The battery life is great after setting up the smart actions and only using the 4g LTE when needed.
