I just signed up here because I need help fixing my Razr Maxx. I got this phone when my father had passed away and switched to it because of the battery life. Today I rooted and loaded JB onto my galaxy tab and got inspired to get it on the phone. cm-10.1-20121203-UNOFFICIAL-spyder-alpha is what I used. I did everything step by step rooting and then using the Razrtouchblack apk to get clockwork mod. Since everything it has just gone into the cyanogenmod loading screen for decades until I force restart into recovery and shut it down. I've tried clearing cache (twice as you all insist) and doing a factory reset and nothing. so then I tried flashing different roms including the official ics build. no dice, they get to a point where its working and then theres an error something about E: Failed to verify etc etc.

Basically, f%$k modding it at this point. I just want my old mans phone to work properly again, I figured out a way to keep it powered down so that I can wait for a response and not kill the battery. Please help!!

All else fails we set you up with rsd lite and the full fxz but matts utility rocks so it should do the trick.

I know its probably really lame to say it, but you guys really helped me on a level you may not understand. This phone means a lot to me because I had suggested it to my father and helped him learn how to use it, it's one of the last tangible things I have left of his and I wanted to use it because as a nerd it just appealed to me. If I had bricked it I would have been really upset, and for a while today I was fairly convinced thats what I had done. Thanks again, clearly I've found a place for helpful information with learning all this, all my other droids have been htcs

If you want to try CM10.1 on your RAZR, use Safestrap 3.05 and it should load up. 10.1 has some bugs so it may not be a good choice for your daily driver.
