Members of the DroidRzr.com family, the time has come! We here at the site feel one of the cooler gifts we can give to all of you this holiday season is the power to select our sites main logo. The logo you've all seen on the top of this forum, is being expired. And as many of you may know, we held a preliminary contest that started 2 weeks ago where we opened up the opportunity ANY member to contribute an unlimited amount of logo submissions. This contest ended this past Sunday. Over the last 3 days, every site staff member has painstakingly reviewed all 66 submissions to narrow it down to our top 6. Here's the best part: We are leaving the final decision up to YOU GUYS! The core people of this forum. The members. We don't care if you contribute 5 times a day, or twice a year. Dedicated supporter, Developers, Themers, Staff, Moderators, Admins...this is open to EVERYONE. So take a chance and take a vote. We want everyone's input on this.

I will be presenting you with 6 logos, in no particular order. The contributors name will be withheld to avoid conflicts of interest. If you see your logo, by all means, vote for yourself, but please don't identify yourself. We want this to be as objective and fair as possible. Place your vote, leave a comment. But please keep it clean and fair.

As we said in the original contest, this thread will run from now until New Years Eve. On New Years eve at 11:59PM EST, whomever has the most votes, will be the winner of the contest, Their name will be announced and their logo will go hot and live on our site on 1/1/13.

Please understand you are not voting on a color, you are voting on the logo. We may change the colors, or have a few different colors, when we theme the rest of the site.

I wish we could get Logo 3 in the color scheme of logo 4. I'm just a bit sick of the dark/red droid look. It's not very....inviting.

just dying to see who created #4, I can't help but think votes are being cast either for the particular artist or against red in general, not sure yet which.... lol

Might be worthwhile to say that color scheme be a separate discussion and only decide on form, composition, font, etc. if the choices are being made from an anything but red position. I haven't a dog in this fight but I have hosted enough dog and pony shows for design to see where this might help pick the best logo

I like 1, 2, and 4 but the color on 4 is what wins it for me

so far kind of what I thought and not having read the directions for the contest I can't be sure but Droid has certainly chosen to image itself with red/black, though this appeals to my punk aesthetic, I tend to agree with BigDaddy as to what reads better. Its a simple thing but What about shifting them all into the blue spectrum and see what happens. Then it is more apples to apples... There are tricks to this that I would use to have a client "choose" the design I wanted them to and I am not suggesting anything here just a way to negate psychological bias when it comes to things like this. On Harvard's psych website (I think) there are tests to show how unconscious such things can be. A bit spooky but I will find the link if anyone is interested.

I would not choose a logo based on color but based on design itself, and then make corresponding logos to match each color theme the site supports. red, pink, blue... depending on what the user chooses for their theme at the bottom left corner of the site, the logo would correspond with it.
