I currently enjoy my RAZR MAXX and am wondering what would be the benefits from my switching to the MAXX HD version? I am by no means a "guru", but like to keep abreast of technology (if the new features are something I may be interested in).

I tried the new RAZR M and was quite unimpressed with it. It didn't hold a candle to my RAZR MAXX, it was just smaller and much less responsive in the marginal cellular signal area in which I live.

Thanks for any input.

I had the Maxx, and upgraded to the Maxx HD. Gave the Maxx to the kid.

To me it is quicker and is getting dev love. I like having the newest but could be argued the DNA is better, I guess. I'm happy I made the update but I loved my maxx so it woudln't have killed me to stay.

I'm a motofan too so others aren't options at this point, for me at least. With JB and the Roms starting to come along, it is a hoot.

Yes, the Maxx HD is slightly larger, slightly heavier, slightly faster and has a bigger internal storage. Exactly what you would expect from a minor upgraded model.

From what I read, you US guys get heavy subsidies when buying new phones, so if you get a real good deal, you can surely switch to the Maxx HD.
But for all the people who actually have to pay a realistic price for their phones, the OG has a much better bang/buck ratio :ß

And about development:
It's true, in the past there have been many devices which were almost useless without custom ROMs being released. The OG doesn't belong in that category, does it ?

I had the OG Razr and looked at the HD. Great phone for sure. For me I wanted I bigger jump so I grabbed the Droid DNA. Loving that so far if you can live with the Non-maxx battery(still gets me through the day) and the small storage 16gig. But all the pros outweigh those 2 cons.
