Somehow I was able to initially install the JB update and retain root. However, some of the phone and ringing functions didn't work right. In the process of reinstalling the update to fix that - which it did - I permanently lost root. So I am patiently waiting for someone to figure that out.

However, that not why I am posting.... With this JB version, there is a new icon I am sure you all have noticed which appears to the right of the 4G LTE icon and just above the cell signal bars icon when WiFi is enabled. It looks like a tiny house with concentric "RF rings" above the roof and it seemingly randomly blinks. However, the old WiFi icon is still there and it has little black up and arrows that indicate the occurrence of in-bound and out-bound traffic. The blinking of those arrows is not synchronized in any way with the blinking of the tiny "RF house".

Has anyone cracked the code for this new icon? Is it providing any new useful information or is it just a new status bar "noise source"?

I was able to install the JB ota and keep root but now i need to unroot and send the phone back to VZ (sending me a new phone, Wifi and keyboard issues). I went back to stock recovery and reflashed the JB ota update(wiped cache) and it would appear im unrooted, however SU is still present and I cant uninstall it. Any Ideas?

Udate; Fixed--Matt is the DA MAN... thanks again.

Manually Team Viewered in and used adb shell to fix his root. My RestoreRoot would have worked though. MTP Mode. USB Debugging enabled.

what can I do to remove SU? is it possible?

I have no idea what I/O error is. I have never seen it before.

Open the RestoreRoot in a text editor and see what links to run manually.

Input/Output error. It's having trouble reading or writing to something. I'm not to swift with Android but in Windows it would probably just be pointing to the fact that su-backup was not found or it's having trouble reading the location where it is. The error itself doesn't really tell you much. It's kind of generic.

I/O error is input/output error.... typically caused by a hardware failure.... either in computer.... USB cable or device.... sometimes a corrupt driver can cause I/O error since it is preventing the device(s) from communicating.....

Curious as to when razr maxx owners will be able to fastboot back to ICS to Root. My buddy has the razr m and he is capable of using RSD Lite to go back to ICS from jellybean. I figure it should be relatively soon for the maxx no?
