Ok gonna be the proud poppa of a baby shamu :) and looking for some quick advice, and yes, everything is different for everyone (very subjective crowd we are) or as the commercial goes, "Be together. Not the same."....

ROM's and kernels - I have been a long time liquidsmooth user and lately have been running blisspop too so more than likely unless something different/better exists, I will probably stick with those two. On the kernels, there seem to be plenty of those too, so really curious there....

TPG - the bodguardz anti-glare to me "looks" the best and I can use that here in L.A. but is $$$, so any help here would be good.

Cases - again very subjective...I currently use a diztronic on the 926 and like it thin but still protective. yes they make one for the NX6 but it covers everything and I was considering a dbrand skin so if I was to go that route, would prefer something clear. The NX6 is 10.1mm (.4in) on its own.

Any suggestions from the 3 or 4 of you ;) that have one would be most appreciated.

No kernels here. Fully stock and its just fine. No screen cover either this has gorilla glass 3. Causes, I have the supcase unicorn beetle pro, spigen neo, and moko case. I prefer the spigen for home, its light weight and feels nice. The supcase is perfect for work but the belt case uses a clip to hold the phone like otter box. The moko slides in place and has a kickstand on the case

As far as kernels, I've used both ElementalX and Sensi, of the two I prefer ElementalX since it seems to be smoother and quite stable. That said the latest version (0.14) does not seem to be quite as battery saving as the previous version I used (0.10) but that is most likely because the DEV has backed a few of his mods out to see if he can isolate an intermittent Sleep of Death (SOD) issue that some of his users have been reporting. Sensi also produced some great battery life and seemed pretty stable but I was only on it a few days before changing over to ElementalX.

ROMs - I stayed stock for the first few weeks just to see how the whale performed and to get a baseline to measure any future changes and I was mostly happy with it but then I started getting the old crack flashing urges and had to give in (it is a Nexus device after all!). I flashed Resurrection but it had a few issues with screen rotation and Bluetooth audio so I didn't keep it on long but from reading the threads for it on XDA, those issues have probably been fixed, I just haven't felt like wiping the phone to flash the latest version. I've been using the Nocturnal LE ROM which is stock based for the last 10 or so days and it is performing very well. I've also elected to stay encrypted since I haven't seen much compelling evidence that the real world usage performance is that much better when decrypted. One other thing I'm doing is just booting into TWRP when needed instead of replacing the stock recovery with it. I don't really have any reason for that but that's how I'm choosing to roll at the moment!

Case - I went with the Spigen thin case recommended by our resident Samuri and I've been happy with it and the price was right also!

I will say that I'm quite impressed with all the development activity taking place for the NX6 especially after the relatively sparse development that was available for the Moto X DEV so I think things are just going to get better and better for this thing (if Google gets the kinks ironed out of Lollipop!).
