For about two weeks I have not seen a 4g connection on my phone. I've tried multiple roms and even going back to stock and still no LTE. I've tried toggling back and forth from airplane mode, taking the sim card, and just simply rebooting the phone but every time it doesn't even attempt to connect to 4G. I've tried both Global and LTE/CDMA settings under mobile networks. I do get 3G with data with no problems. I do have the Network Signal app which tells me I am connected to EHRPD and I seem to be stuck on it. I called Verizon tech support and they told me the only other two things I can do is replace the sim card and do a factory reset. I asked them to send me a replacement sim card so I will try that first.

I have two questions:

1. Is there any issues with doing a factory reset on the stock side considering I'm rooted and have roms loaded on slots 1 and 2. I wouldn't think there would be, but wanted to be safe before I do something like that.

2. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help in advance

When you say you rebooted the phone, am I correctly assuming you rebooted with the SIM in it? If so, try taking the SIM card out and rebooting without it. Then when rebooted let it sit for 2-3 minutes, then power down, pop the SIM back in and reboot.

That might help. Lol.

The same issue happened to me when Verizon was upgrading towers in my area. I could only get 3g data and no 4g no matter what I did. My issue lasted an entire week not 2 though. Just a FYI.

@droidian just tried what you suggested, no luck.

@chrisf I'm experiencing the same issue in a wide geographical area and other people have 4G when I don't.

Well everything's right.. I had this issue with my old HTC Rezound and I ended up getting a warranty replacement from Verizon. This may be what you will have to do unless anybody else knows anything else that may work. I don't off the top of my mind...

I think you'll lose root if you do a factory reset. It's been a long time since I had to do one but it seems to me that was the case. Safestrap would probably get hosed too. Anybody know for sure?

Factory data reset doesnt touch the system partition so root and safestrap will not be affected.

Correct. However, the safestrap apk will be deleted. Not the it matters if the safestrap recovery is already installed.
