1. Download an place in external storage
2. Have your phone charged at least 70% (just in case)
3.Boot into stock recovery (turning off the phone and turning back on pressing at the same time volumes up and down , scroll to recovery and choose it pressing volume (up) ..
4.From there you should get the android abortion , press volumes up and down once more an it should look familiar from there wipe cache ( don't worry , your stuff won't erase) and install update from SD card ** it should take about 8 min an you are ready to go ** JELLY BEAN VERSION (4.1.2 ). enjoy.

I am writing this to see if it help someone who has missing files, preinstall failed errors when updating to JB Jellybean
Ok I was having an error with a Motorola_XT912_BatterySave.3gp missing.
Getting an error like
assert failed: apply_patch_check(" preinstall KnowYourDevice
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

To fix this:

1. Download Matt's utility DroidRAZRUtility1.82 from here

2. Unzip the utility
3. Install the Drivers from the DRIVERS folder
4. Turn off phone
5. Press power and vol up and vol down at the same time, this will bring you in to the recovery menu
6. press vol down and select AP Fastboot, press vol up to enter AP Fastboot
7. Plug in your phone it should say usb connected
8. Open up a command window(start->run->cmd) and change the directory to the folder you extracted the files
9. Type "moto-fastboot flash preinstall preinstall.img" and press enter. Wait while the preinstall image is flashed. Now type "moto-fastboot erase cache" and press enter, then "moto-fastboot reboot"
10. Once phone is finished booting restart the phone and go into recovery menu again(Step #5)
11. This time select "Recovery" and then press vol up
12. Wait and You will see an dead android, press vol up and down at same time again
13. Press vol down and and select Wipe cache, then press power button
14. Once cache is deleted, vol down and select apply update from sdcard(select the zip file)other tutorials cover all this...and it should work.
