Guess what, Motorola? You got us shouting at you again. You

, but how are existing owners of the Droid RAZR going to unlock their bootloaders? No way. Do you seriously expect them to dish out money to buy a brand new device just to get a bootloader unlock?

If you did, you clearly shouldn’t. Here’s what forum member

(make ourselves heard), has to say:

Motorola Mobility Inc. has become famous for its lies, slanderous ways, and tendency to flat out prove time and time again that it cares not for its customers after they walk out of that store with their Motorola-branded device. Since the early days of Android, post Droid 1, we have sat down and took our locked bootloaders like a man. There came to be a boiling point – and a full-out war was launched on their social media sites. Sound familiar? The same thing that worked with HTC and now with Asus. We received a generic “second half of 2011″ timing. Guess what! It’s now Q1 2012, and not only have they missed their deadline, but they have given an official announcement of their plans… to release a completely separate version of the RAZR with an unlockable bootloader. This is unacceptable for those of us who dished out 800 dollars to get our phones on the first few days in hopes that our devices would be unlocked, and even MORE unacceptable for Droid 3, Bionic, and other Motorola users. DOWNRIGHT UNACCEPTABLE. Motorola has screwed us over. Again.
But we here at #OPMOSH aren’t done. Raise your voices – let’s make ourselves heard yet again, to let Moto know that this “Developer Edition” had better be available either as a trade for our devices, paying the difference, or not at all, since we all bought our devices in hopes for them to keep their word in the first place. Everyone counts!

If someone else would build a radio and hardware that would equal or exceed moto, I would jump on that ship

Several Weeks ago I made a complaint to the FCC about the locked bootleggers. I checked my messages on break from work and have a message from the FCC on my voicemail wanting more info. I will call after i'm off work and let everyone know more after I talk to them.

From my understanding it was verizon that required motorola to remove the unlocked bootloader from the razr devices.. Nothing short of government action will change a contract between motorola and verizon.. Now that google has gotten the green light to buy motorola's cell phone division, I doubt motorola will care about a handful of lost sales because of the locked bootloader. In the big picture, a few thousand customers amounts to a meaningless blip when they produce tens of millions of devices...

You forget that Android is built around the development community backbone. Sales very strongly depend on the power users recommending the devices. What they should fear is not the lack of us buying them, it is the lack of us recommending them. Just since the turn of the year I can think of well over a dozen people that have bought based exclusively on my recommendations including family, friends, and colleagues. If these issues are not resolved soon, Motorola will likely see some devastation coming. The bootloader is just the start. The way they are handling ICS now might very well seal their coffin.

That's not the big picture though; who do those millions of customers go to when looking for advice as to what phone to buy?

Here's a thought to make El Goog and Moto take notice. Why not launch a blackout day, similar to the PIPA and SOPA, instead, aimed at Motorola and Google. I'm sure google would take notice if a significant number of its users suddenly stopped using their free services. Even if its for an hour or two.

You know, just don't turn the android phones on for a day. Don't use google web services temporarily. I think they might pay attention then.
HTC Aria -> Sam. Captivate -> LG Enlighten -> Moto Droid Razr

I got tired of fighting them on the issue. My devices include D1, X, X², Bionic after seeing how they operate I decided to pick up a Nexus I really love Moto hardware it is the best in my opinion, but when they are the only company that I know of dictating how their product is used I decided to send them a message and hurt their wallet. This is all I know to do? You can view all my tweets to them under #OPMOSH @V3rSaTiL31
