The easiest way to root is:

  • Download an app called GooManager from the Play Store

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

    .
  • And download this file and place it in the sd-card

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

  • Open the GooManager App and find where says Flash ROMs and Press on it.
  • You will (might) get a message saying stuff about needing a recovery bla bla and have 2 options press on the one saying Try to find one for me.
  • Than it will confirm with you if you want to download/install the recovery you should press YES
  • It will do its thing and than ask you if you want to install the recovery it found most likely be TWRP press YES.
  • It will install the recovery than in the app there is an option Reboot Recovery press on that.
  • Once in the recovery press where it says Install
  • Find the second file you downloaded on the sd-card.
  • Confirm flashing.
After that you should have root all you have to do is reboot system and enjoy.

I get stuck on step 6, it can't find TWRP when I try to find it in GooManager. Can I install the recovery manually instead?

Thanks I got the recovery to install. I found it on GooManager but after downloading didn't know how to install, so I just manually installed it using fastboot. So after that I should install the CVM-SuperUser zip in TWRP Recovery?

Of course I'm making a backup first.

I followed the steps. All seems to work except rebooting in recovery mode. Manually (using Bootloader menu), I am getting the stock recovery screen (Android with !) which will not allow me to do anything. I tried rebooting from GooManager and no luck either. I am on the last step just need to install SuperSu (currently sitting in my SD card)

Here is a link (

) to the most current TWRP recovery that works prefectly on our Dev Edition Razr M. Just download and flash it in AP mode using the command in the OP. FYI just use the new name of the current file in place of what is stated in the OP is all
