Thanks man. tried a couple times with the different threads about it and always seem to run into not being able to restore root. Now back to playing.

I've been sitting here for six hours trying to get this thing to ROOT. I just got a Razr HD today. When I plugging my phone into my PC it said something about new files to update so I let it and then I relised it was loading JB and not update my PC drivers. Before I knew it it was half way done. I pulled the plug but it was too late. I had to let it finish. I now have JB 4.1.2. I have tried RSD using GB 4.0.4 and it failed. I tried several HD utilities and they failed. So what am I doing wrong? I really want to get this rooted.

From what I understand you're screwed because there is no exploit for 4.1.2 as of yet and you can't go back to 4.0.4.

I took the phone back and told them I had a problem with it. They replaced it with one that had 4.1.1. I then ran the HD utiliy and rooted it and everything is coooooooooool.

from threads on that other droid forum site it seems to be possible to use the VooDoo's OTA Root keeper to update from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2 without losing root. My phone has not yet arrived (in the mail) I have my fingers crossed for 4.1.1 as I don't know if I can use an Android without root on it for more than about 3 minutes...

I have VooDoo on my phone but I'm not totally trusting it would work when I need it most.
