First of all hi everybody, and thanks to Matt for all his tutorials !

Former owner of a htc wildfire with cyanogenmod on, I decided to afford a more recent and funny phone, that is the razr. But since I am used to switch from Rom to Rom, I wanted to unlock the bootloader and to root it.

Therefore I followed Matt tutoriol over there on xda : http://forum.xda-dev....php?p=32576654 and I don't know exactly why, but i never got any answer from the phone during the script. I always stayed at :

user@computer:~/tmp/RAZRi_Root_Linux/files$ ./fastboot-linux-i386 oem get_unlock_data
< waiting for device >

Without having any answer. On this, I decided to launch the unrooting procedure, having put on the Usb debugging, and I quickly ended up with a failed flashing, and a phone that refuses to boot on any item of the menu (normal/recovery/factory/bp tools), be the usb cable active or not.

Now, I imagine that, since the flashing failed, I should flash another ROM, but my bootloader is not yet unlocked. Matt, everybody, any help on how to unlock it, knowing that I am using the latest version of Ubuntu ?

Another precision . I was using the latest vodafone.fr ROM, and there is the detail of my tentative of unlock :

user@computer:~/tmp/RAZRi_Root_Linux$ bash Root.sh
Resetting ADB and Launching Huawei MyTouch4G Root utility...
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
This Isn't A Windoze Tool. Thanks obeygiant and stealthmouse!

Because its the utility Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now.
So, well hunt it, because it can take it. Because its not our hero.
Its a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

Plug the phone in with a USB cord and have it booted up normally.
Go to Settings .Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
If these are done press any key to continue.

I never had any news for 10 minutes after this last line, and I disconnected the usb cable.

I finally understood why the device was not found : I needed to «sudo» in order to give to the fastboot utility access to usb ports apparently.

So, I think I solved it myself : after using the fastboot version that allows to flash more than 100 MB and unlocking the device, I could reflash another boot image, and it worked :)
